German to English Translation

Why German to English Translation is Not Enough in Business

German to English Translation is a must?

With German being the first language of about 105 million people (according to Wikipedia), it is no wonder why German to English translation services are widely used today. German is also the most used language when it comes to commerce, business, engineering, science or technology in the European Union. Adding the fact that Germany is one of the largest (and the most powerful) economies in Europe and the one with the largest import/export operations, a company will realize it misses quite a lot if it doesn’t have commercial relations with German based businesses.

Considering the above, one would think that German to English translation should be enough for business communications, legal documents, technical and user manuals. This is far from the truth. While other countries consider English a widespread language which is easily accessible to anyone in the word, Germans will not use it when it comes to doing business with partners who don’t speak English as their first language. Instead, they will use a translation service to translate all their documents in the partner’s native language.

German business people will rather translate German to Dutch when doing business in the Netherlands. Similarly, they will use a German to Finnish, Danish, Swedish, Italian, French, Polish or Czech translation service to translate everything they send out to business partners in their own language. Out of courtesy and respect, the counterpart must translate their documents into German.

Translating everything into the partner’s native language is a good business practice every company should embrace. When translation is done by a professional translation agency, it leaves no room for errors or misinterpretations.

To conclude, German to English Translation is not enough when doing business with people that only speak English as a second language as it may lead to misunderstandings and errors, wouldn’t you agree?
